The electricity went out in the village one afternoon this week. First we heard a beep from our carbon monoxide detector, and then the living room lamp went out and I lost wi-fi connection. Within minutes, the Alliant Energy truck was in town driving up and down the streets trying to find what caused the power outage.
We come to find out that seven houses up the street from us, the repairmen found a big woodpecker sizzled to a crisp on a light pole wire.
Lights were back on within the hour.
Rat-a-tat-tat-tat . . .
And, that was that.

I stopped in at the restaurant to talk to Brian a little while after they got back on and it sounds like it was an interesting time there.
lol we didn't lose power out here in the boondocks so it must have just been a town thing :) glad it's all back on but feel bad for woody woodpecker!! miss you guys & love you always!!! XOXO :)
Megan, the world stops when the lights go out. Makes us appreciate that which we so take for granted.
Sunshine, thanks for the note. I felt bad for Woody, too.
