Hubby said to me, "There's a barn up here someplace that has graffiti all over it." We kept driving and looking for the Graffiti Barn.
Graduating seniors are classic ones to paint their year of graduation on public places. That's self-expression. They want to be remembered. Where better than an abandoned barn along the side of a gravel road to announce their successful completion of high school...their entrance to the adult climate?
The Right of Passage Barn.

'twould have to be an abandoned barn. No farmer in his right mind would allow it.
Oh, sure, this barn is one of those local places of interest, and evidently the farmer hasn't minded it being a target for youthful spray-painters. Absolutely, if this was a Midwest farmer's main barn, there'd be Criminal Mischief charges filed against the vandals. This picture would be evidence of vandalism, certainly not self-expression.
That's an interesting perception, once again, about the old and the abandoned. Hmmmmmm. Why is it that if something/someone is old and abandoned, they no longer matter.
Goodness gracious, this blog and your comment has planted a seed of thought in my head with a new twist. Thanks, Tall Cottage.
